Super Science Saturday Workshops!
The San Antonio Children's Museum has exciting Saturday Science workshops available for your little scientist. Explore physics, biology, engineering and more with our specialized equipment and knowledgeable teachers, while enjoying a day out with your child.
When: Saturdays March 24, April 28, May 19, June 16 (9:30-12:00 pm)
Ages: 7-10 years*
Cost: $25.00 Non-Members/$20.00 Member/$15.00 for additional child (cost of program includes all day admission to museum for student and 1 parent/caregiver)
*Parents - You are welcome to drop your little scientist off in the class while you play in the museum with younger siblings if you'd like, but please do not bring younger siblings into the class. Regular admission applies to siblings ($8 ages 2 and up; free for children under 2).
Register for one or more of the following dates for your homeschooler:
March 24: Play with Air... If you Dare! Master the science of air as you participate in some windy, noisy, and explosive activities. We'll explore air by crushing cans, banging air cannons, breaking apart wood, and creating an explosion or two!
April 28: Force and Motion commotion! Become a master of force and motion as you experiment with forces where you'll have to see it to believe it! Discover the power of force and motion as you create tricky pendulums, use marbles to defy gravity, and give solid shape to liquid metal!
May 19: Reaction... in Action! Put your goggles on and get ready for a messy, explosive, and educational workshop full of chemistry experiments that will really get you thinking! We'll lean about acids and bases while we create rainbows from clear liquid, investigate the effect of heat on polymers, and observe chemical reactions by exploding at thing or two!
June 16: Glow and Grow! Escape the heat this summer and retreat into the dark world of glowing science! We'll lean how to use UV light waves to make words appear, experiment with chemical reactions that produce light, and experiment with a foam dome that glows as well as grows!
